I moved to Europe in 2002 and was first introduced to Kurdish people that year in refugee camps throughout Italy, then as citizens in new countries. In 2004 i started a series of travels to Kurdstan (Eastern Turkey/Northern Iraq) and met refugees, guerrillas, and citizen activists.

Illuminated Books
These books are carried around and traded amongst PKK guerilla's in Northeastern Kurdistan. Their ideologies can be seen in the books they read. This area contains the largest library of Kurdish printed literature, essentially creating a nomadic library. Kandil Mountains, Kurdistan/Northern Iraq. 2005.
